Community Options Volunteers

• Have the opportunity to assist adults with intellectual disabilities to pursue their goals and interests;
• make inclusion a reality;
• assist members of the community to get to know someone who is disabled in a new and positive way;
• can choose a number of ways to get involved......
  • Volunteer Guides... provide support to individuals in their volunteer positions at a variety of non-profit organizations in the area;
  • Educational Tutors... assist adults to improve their literacy, numerical and computer skills;
  • Recreation/Leisure Volunteers... assist individuals to connect with local recreational activities, clubs, and organizations;
  • Lifeskills Volunteers... provide assistance to promote independent living (ie. cooking, money skills, and city bus training).
